Materials & Digital Tools

General Tools

Desktop

As I have a major in arts, there is not much more to say to justify why I enjoy making my own material. Despite I no longer have the time to draw, paint and/or animate by myself, I usually Google whatever I want and try different synonyms or languages to make my searches as accurate as possible. Although I have a wide digital collection of textures, fonts and brushes (all for non-commercial purposes) I would also search for these materials if necessary. I prefer to work at home and use Photoshop for most productions, but when I am "on the go" I use Pixlr Editor, which is quite similar to my desktop program. Sometimes I also use Adobe's Illustrator and Premiere (for video edition), but these are not necessary most of the time.
Last but not least, Microsoft Office's Word and Excel are a must in this desktop tool's list.

Online

Of course, as many others I love to use videos and music. I usually go for YouTube, Vimeo, DailyMotion or TED (depending on the need). Whenever I need a video I try two options: in YouTube, I add an "ss" after the "www.", which quickly leads to SaveFromNet, another option to download from many platforms. If I only need the audio, I would use YouTube to MP3 to download it.
For some practicum samples, where I could not find the audio I wanted to use, I sang and record it with Vocaroo.
Common places I search for image resources are Pinterest, Google Images and Deviantart.

Blog Making

Positmood template downloaded from MyBloggerThemes, and the top frame modified with Photoshop, including ColdHandLuke Trial font and DJB Monkey Scratches font. Used Google Image search for the "Education computer" icon and the blackboard. Favicon of Pusheen has also been searched through Google Image Search.
The "About me" gif was made using GifMaker.me, Google image search for the blackboard, and drawings were made by myself.

Hello Carolina,

My name is Abril. Nice to meet you!
I am carrying out my own teaching training practice in Lenguas Vivas, and I am in the midst of arranging my blog for my portfolio. The tutor left a link to your blog and I love it! After reading it I realized that it would be a good idea to put a disclaimer in my blog because I also used a lot of resources that I do not own ,for the sake of my training.
I wanted to ask you if it would be ok for me to use the disclaimer you used in your blog.
I hope you see this message!
Saludos!
Abril.
